The Easter Bunny Has been Arrested!

Easter Bunny hurts child.

March 22,2008

A Lakeline Mall employee dressed as the Easter Bunny was arrested Friday after police say he injured a young child after getting fed up with his job.
The man, whose name was not released, was taking pictures with children on his lap at the mall about 1 p.m. Friday, said Sgt. Brian Loyd of the Austin police child abuse unit. Witnesses said the man became angry with his photographer, decided he no longer wanted to be employed by the mall and put a 9-month-old child on the ground, Loyd said.
"He went to take the child off his lap, and the child ended up injured in the process," Loyd said. The child suffered a contusion to the forehead, Loyd said, and was treated at a hospital and later released.
Loyd said investigators are dealing with several conflicting witness reports about the injury.
"I've heard that he pushed the child down, dropped the child, tripped with the child," Loyd said. "We don't want to charge someone without all the facts."
The man was taken to the Williamson County Jail by Austin police officers but has since been released pending the investigation. No charges have been filed against him.
Lakeline Mall is in Williamson County but in the city limits of Austin. Loyd said he knew of no complaints against the employee in the past.
"It's a rare thing," Loyd said. "I've been here 22 years, and I think this is the first time I've heard of anything like this, involving a caricature."
Loyd said the man could be charged with second-degree felony injury to a child, depending on whether he intended to hurt the child. He could face two to 20 years in prison, Loyd said. He might also not be charged.

oh it gets better.....

Easter Bunny-Dressed Protester Arrested at Kmart at Demonstration Against Easter Baskets Containing Toy Soldiers

March 13,2008

Protests are intensifying over the arrival of heavily armed soldiers at Kmarts, Walmarts, and Rite Aids around the country.

The soldiers are not guarding the retail giants from attack.
They are toy soldiers armed with assault rifles and machine guns, and they have replaced the traditional front-and-center chocolate bunny in children’s Easter baskets.
Christians celebrate Easter as the day the peace-loving Jesus Christ rose from the dead.
In Nevada City, some 30 people converged on Kmart on Wednesday and demanded the removal of the militarized Easter Baskets. Kmart said it would not restock its shelves with the baskets. The day before, Joanna Robinson, was arrested after refusing to stop pointing out the war toys to customers inside the store. She is the wife of famed folk singer Utah Phillips.
In New York on Sunday, a 28-year-old mother was arrested at the Astor Place Kmart in downtown Manhattan. She was wearing a sweater fringed with cellophane grass, white pants, plush slippers, fuzzy white rabbit ears.
Amy Hamilton-Thibert, arrested for dressing as Easter Bunny at a K-Mart in New York to protest the sale of Easter baskets that included army action figures.

Not your average Easter bunny

Kimberley, South Africa - A 35-year-old woman has been arrested after she went to fetch her "Easter gift" at the post office - because the package contained drugs.
Captain Tony Modise said police from Roodepan received information that drugs from Gauteng where on their way to the local post office.
Police located the package at the post office in the city centre and waited in and around the post office for the suspect to come and fetch her parcel.
"Police were dispatched inside and outside the post office late on Thursday morning," said Modise.
"The officers waited for hours for the suspect.
"Their patience was rewarded when the suspect arrived at the post office at 15:00 to fetch her parcel.
When the "Easter gift" was opened later at the police station, pills were found in a toy keyboard made of plastic.
The keyboard was a children's toy that said on the packaging that it was meant for children who were three years old and older.
The pills are presumed to be Mandrax or ecstasy.
Modise said that sending drugs by post as "gifts" was popular among drug dealers.

Well dang that was distrubing, so how about more?
