Is the all American girl next door who was the model for literally thousands of paintings created by the great illustrators of the late 30’s, the 40’s, 50’s, & 60’s. These paintings were recreated on tens of millions of calendars, magazine covers, blotters, notepads and dozens of other items. During the period when these lovely images were being printed and distributed they were omnipresent throughout the country and in fact, the world.

It was impossible to be unaware of this art form. American soldiers in virtually every part of the world displayed these girls on their lockers airplanes and vehicles.

Every business, restaurant, theatre, club, and locker room was decorated with these beauties. Feminism, multi-culturalism, and political correctness, and all other hindrances to the pleasures provided by the pin-up artists were nonexistent.

Is the name of the recent blockbuster art book written by Louis K. Meisel and Charles G. Martignette. Published by Taschen Verlag, it includes 900 color pictures of these wonderful paintings. Buy The Book

Is the style of original paintings, which is one of the specialties of Louis K. Meisel Gallery. The gallery possesses the largest collection, and available inventory of this art form in the world. All other galleries combined do not have a small fraction of what can be seen here.
